Volunteer Opportunities
The Huntington Arts Council is looking for dedicated volunteers to support its operations and programs. With flexible shifts starting at two hours, this program offers a rewarding way to engage with the local arts community while contributing meaningful support to HAC. Read on for more information.
weekend volunteers
- Weekend volunteers (age 18+) play a vital role in keeping the gallery open to the public. Volunteers will open or close the gallery depending on their shift, engage with visitors by answering questions about the current exhibition and our other programs, and occasionally assist with weekend events such as the Huntington Art Walk. Gallery sitting shifts run Saturdays from 12–4 PM and select Sundays from 12–4 PM.

- Weekday volunteer opportunities (age 16+) are available Tuesday through Friday between 10 AM and 4 PM, with additional events such as receptions occasionally taking place after 5 PM. Tasks may include setting up events, assisting with program-specific projects as needed, mailings, answering phones, and data entry.
special events
- Volunteer opportunities will also be available during the Town of Huntington’s Summer Arts Festival. These volunteers (age 16+) will work at the HAC table at the Chapin Rainbow Stage to meet and greet attendees, help sell merchandise, and share festival information among other duties. And you get to enjoy all different types of live performances!
what you should know
- As a thank-you for their time, volunteers can track their hours to receive perks, such as HAC branded merchandise or a free year of Artist Circle membership after completing 24 hours of service.
- All volunteers are required to complete a brief training session before getting started. .
