Rosemary McLaughlin Joins Huntington Arts Council Board

Huntington, NY, 26 June 2009 - The Huntington Arts Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Huntington resident Rosemary McLaughlin to its Board of Directors.

Ms. McLaughlin and her husband Ed have five children. Their twins participate in the performing arts, one in theater and one in band. Her involvement helped create her deep appreciation for the stage. She stated about her appointment to the board, "The Huntington Arts Council is a wonderful asset in town and I want to help nurture it." She was an active committee member in the Arts Council's "Got Talent? Long Island" competition this past winter.

"Rosemary was instrumental in the success of Got Talent, and she will be an asset to both the Arts Council and the community as a board member," said Executive Director Diana J. Cherryholmes.

Founded in 1963, the Huntington Arts Council is a not-for-profit organization which enriches the quality of life of Long Islanders with programs and services that address the needs and interests of artists, cultural organizations and the community. The Council's programs reach over 750,000 Long Island residents, and it serves the entire region with its cultural listings at www.huntingtonarts.org. The Council is the official arts coordinating agency for the Town of Huntington, and serves as the primary regranting agency in Suffolk County for the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), in addition to its services to over 600 member cultural organizations and individual artist members.
