As part of the Huntington Arts Council's mission of "Bringing Art to Life," we coordinate and participate in a number of Arts-in-Education programs, including:
- The Journey Program - Founded by Sandy Chapin over twenty years ago, the Huntington Arts Council's Journey Program is a Cultural Arts-in-Education program that joins the Huntington Arts Council as a means of integrating cultural arts into the school curriculum.
- Tulip Festival Art Contest - In partnership with the Town of Huntington and Astoria Federal Savings, the Huntington Arts Council administers this annual student art contest for children in grades 3-8.
- Scholarship Programs - The Arts-in-Education program has administered a number of privately funded scholarship programs, including the Aboff-Usdan Scholarship for talented arts students.
- Internship Programs - The Huntington Arts Council offers internship programs for both high school and college students. These internships offer participants a well balanced look at careers in arts administration. To apply for an internship, please send a resume, cover letter, and writing sample to Caitlin Apostoli, Arts-in-Education Coordinator, 213 Main Street, Huntington, NY 11743.
- Guitar Program - With support from the D'Addario Foundation and New York State Assemblyman James Conte, the Huntington Arts Council coordinates a guitar program with the Tri-Community Youth Agency. This program provides students in Tri-CYA programs with guitars and a full summer of free guitar lessons.
