Why become an Artist member?
The Huntington Arts Council is a non-profit organization established in 1963. Our mission is "to enrich the quality of life of Long Islanders with programs and services that address the needs and interest of artists, cultural organizations and the community."
Our Artist Tier Membership started when we realized that individual artists needed our help to promote them and their work. Since then we have been able to serve many artists both in promoting them in our newspaper Arts Cultural News and by referrals. Our Main Street Petite Gallery and Art-trium, our satellite gallery, provide gallery space for many of our members to exhibit their work and have it available to the public.
Other artist member benefits are:
-
You will have your upcoming events listed in Arts Cultural News, which is printed three times a year, and is mailed free to 90,000 homes and businesses.
-
You will receive timely arts information about grant opportunities and technical assistance workshops.
-
You will have the opportunity to be selected for an individual or group show in our galleries.
-
Your name will be added to our Artist Registry to be used for referral, consultations, etc.
-
You will receive discounts for advertising in Arts Cultural News and member discounts on workshops and more.
Your membership supports the many other programs of the Arts Council: Arts-In-Education, Cultural Internships, Arts Cultural News, Huntington Summer Arts Festival, Grants for the Arts and advocacy.
